Deacon Steven Chabarria will be ordained to the priesthood on Sat., June 3 at 10 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Tyler. Deacon Steven, a parishioner of St. Mary Magdalene in Flint, is the son of Albert and Laura Chabarria of Flint. Deacon Steven recently completed his Masters in Divinity from Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans.
The Diocese of Tyler is hosting its second annual Eucharistic Congress, June 9-10, 2023, at Bishop Gorman School in Tyler. This event is an opportunity for the diocese to gather for Mass, prayer, formation, and community. This year the Eucharist Congress will focus on the sacrament of Baptism and feature keynote presentations in Spanish from Bishop Daniel Flores, bishop of Brownsville, and English presentations from Dr. John Bergsma, a professor at Franciscan University.
