Catholic Tyler Mission Week: St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Flint will be hosting their first Catholic Tyler Mission Week, June 3-6, 2024. All students going into 5th grade to graduating seniors are welcome to register for this week of service and fellowship. Service days begin at St. Mary Magdalene at 8am for morning prayer and assignments. Crews will go to different locations based on need and skills. Adult volunteers are needed for different positions such as lunch runners, crew leaders, drivers, etc. Students will earn up to 35 service hours! Theology of the Body Training: The diocesan Faith Formation Department will host a Theology of the Body Training, June 7-8 from 9am-3pm at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Flint. This two-day workshop is intended for anyone in ministry who wants to get a deeper foundation in the Christian anthropology developed by St. John Paul II. Introduction to Fertility Awareness Presentation: The Sanctity of Life Action Committee is partnering with the diocesan Family Life Department for a presentation titled “Introduction to Fertility Awareness”. This presentation will delve into pro-woman and pro-life options for reproductive health. The presentation will be led by Emily Frase on June 12, 2024 from 6:30-8:30pm in the Cathedral Center at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Tyler (423. S. Broadway, Tyler, TX 75702). Marquette NFP Class: A Marquette Method NFP class will be held on June 22, 2024 from 10am-12pm at the St. Paul Meeting Room at the Diocese of Tyler Chancery (1015 E. Southeast Loop 323, Tyler, TX. 75701. Linda Chao, RN will be the class instructor. The Marquette Method is a scientific, evidence-based method of NFP that uses an at-home fertility monitor to measure fertility hormones. Group classes are intended for women/couples in regular cycles. Cost is $50/couple and includes formal follow-ups. Catechist Training Seminar: Join catechists from the Central Deanery for a formation seminar, hosted by the diocesan Faith Formation department, focusing on the Sacrament of Confirmation and our lives as disciples. This seminar will be on Saturday, August 3rd and will feature two sessions: English (8:30 am to 11:30 am) and Spanish (12:30 pm to 3:30 pm), at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Tyler (423. Women’s Vocation Discernment Program: The Dominican Sisters of Fatima will be hosting a women’s vocation discernment program for women ages 18-35. These meetings have been created to facilitate an adequate space for young women to discern their vocation and God’s call for their lives. The goal is to offer formation and accompaniment in their journey of faith, to learn about consecrated life and grow in their personal relationship with the Lord. The first session will be on Saturday, August 24th from 9am-3pm in the St. Paul Meeting Room at the Diocese of Tyler Chancery (1015 E. Southeast Loop 323, Tyler, TX 75701). This session will be an introduction and informational gathering.
