My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:
Next week, we will begin the season of Lent. This liturgical season is a time of renewal and conversion for those of us who are already Christian, and it is about welcoming the newly baptized and initiated into the Church through the Easter sacraments. These six weeks before Easter are a great opportunity for us to allow God’s grace and love to form us into the image and likeness of his son, Jesus Christ.
One of the challenges during Lent is the busyness of our daily lives, which often makes it difficult to place God at the center of our lives. This Lent, let us take the time to pray, fast and give alms which will open our hearts and allow God to draw us closer to him.
God’s grace is ever abundant and available to us always. I pray that this Lenten season will be a blessed one for all of us.
Sincerely in Christ,
Bishop Joe S. Vásquez
Apostolic Administrator
