Strickland expresses “sincere thanks” for the money raised and notes that, since the collection began, “generous parishioners in your diocese have donated a total of $696,722.81 to help religious communities care for senior members.” For more information about the National Religious Retirement Office, please see the website.

The Cathedral once again is able to offer faith formation for children with special needs. We have two certified teachers who have dedicated themselves to this educational ministry. These classes are for any student with a special need or who might benefit from some extra help. We are already looking toward next year and how we can be more helpful for families that have a child with special needs and wish some help for their child’s faith formation. If you have any suggestions of how we could adapt for your family in a better way or if you would be willing to serve on a committee to enrich and grow our special needs program here at the Cathedral, please contact Peggy Hammett, Director of Faith Formation at 903-592-1617, ext. 119, or phammett@thecathedral.info.
